Laundry.....enough said.

Once upon a time there was a girl, then she grew up and was faced with the most daunting task.

It's a scary sight.....

Sometimes I think someone else is sneaking into my house and dropping off their clothes for me to wash. It's the only explanation I can come up with because I am pretty sure that we do not own nor wear this many clothes. But don't take my word for it, I could be in denial or just high on laundry detergent.

Then there are these....where their mates are I have no clue. I think the bandit that sneaks in and drops off their clothes is also stealing socks too.

If you don't hear from me, send a search party, for the mountain of laundry may have swallowed me up.

This Wasn't Suppose to Happen!!!!

There were a few things my husband assured me would happen when we moved to the South, one of them being that it WOULD NOT Snow. That we could put the White stuff behind us when we left North Dakota. So please Hunny can you explain this......

This was not just little flurries...NO this was a dump of snow!!!!

We ended up with close to 8 inches outside of our house.....YUCK!!!!!  To think that I just put away all my winter gear, typical me!

However I must admit that the little town of Tunica did look awful pretty covered in snow.

Did I mention that when this happens, everything shuts down....even the Piggly Wiggly!!!!

Not one car seen on the streets.....

But don't worry this morning I woke up to the most amazing sound of snow melting.......the sun is out and temps are suppose to be on the rise:)

So in celebration I think I will make some chocolate chip cookies!!!

A Typical Tuesday Morning

I love lazy mornings with my boys, there is nothing better than enjoying my cup of coffee while I snuggle with them. By the way I should tell you up front that I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON, it isn't that I am mean or really cranky, I just take forever to get going. So I am glad that I have little buddies that understand.

I love that Miles and Lennon are starting to play with each other....really adds to the dynamic of things:)

Such a HAPPY boy in the morning....of course after he has been changed, feed and loved on for a bit.

So the way Lennon could you PLEASE stop growing....I would like you to stay my wee itty bitty for a little while longer.

Then there is Miles....need I say more.

What a Cheezer....he makes my life very interesting!!!

This is him pretending to be a lap dog....not sure why?

Enjoying some morning Cartoons...I think it may be Caillou ( Why Oh Why most they like this show).

Question....Why are we watching Caillou?

Got Milk....Morning play time makes him Thirsty!!!

A little reading material anyone....Look at the Concentration!!!!

Most have come across something good:) By the way I have THREE boys...but one sadly enough misses out on morning fun time because he has to go to school. We miss you Keegan and Momma will have a snack ready for you when you get home this afternoon!!!!

Happy Tuesday!!!

Mexican Brownies to Spice Things Up......Oooh la la

Are you looking for something different to make your loved one this Valentines Day?????  Heck, if you are looking to just make your self something special for Valentines Day that's okay too:) Well if you want something that is chocolaty with a little spice then you came to the right place.

These Mexican Brownies are to die for they are so good...they are a perfect combination between spicy and savory and they are fudgy too! Oh and there is something you can do with the left over scraps if you choose to cut them out.

Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees, than in a sauce pan melt 2 sticks of non-salted butter over medium-low heat. Once your butter has melted, remove from heat and let it sit and cool down a bit.

While your butter is melting, line a 9 x 13 inch pan with parchment paper. Now here is a cool trick that I learned from my friend Sarah, remember that butter wrapper? Well use it to butter the parchment paper, so that way you won't have to bother opening another stick.

*The parchment paper isn't going to lay in the pan very well, but after you pour the brownie batter in it should stay in place.

Once your Butter has melted add in 2 cups of Sugar, 4 large Eggs and 2 Tablespoons of Vanilla. Stir until combined and smooth.

Here is the secret ingrediant... Mexican Cinnamon (Canela) and Caynne Pepper. Shut the Front Door, Caynne Pepper in Brownies! YES and it is absoulty scrumdiddlyumptious, I am surprised that Wonka didn't think of it himself.

So now that you are in on my little secret, go ahead and add 1 teaspoon of Mexican Cinnamon (Canela), 1/4 teaspoon of Caynne Pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of Salt, 1/2 teaspoon of Baking Powder, 2/3 cup of Coco Powder and 1 cup of Flour. Mix it up until nice and smooth.

Pour your Brownie batter into your lined  9 x 13 inch pan. Just make sure that when you are spreading the batter that you make sure the corners are tucked down. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, you will want the center to be a little fudgy.

Pull the Brownies out with the parchment paper and set it on a cooling rack to cool down.

Now you have a serious choice to use cookie cutters or to cut into squares????? What to do....hmmmm, well regardless on what you have your heart set on they will taste just as good either way.

I chose the cookie cutters....a little message for a little someone;) Add a little Powder Sugar to the top if you want...I think it looks pretty:)

Okay so if you chose the cookie cutters, than you will have all these little pieces left over. I personally hate to see any chocolate wasted, so I decieded to save it.

I just placed the chuncks in a tupperware container, that I placed in the freezer to use for Brownie Sundas!!!

Four Reasons Why......

There are four reasons I get up everyday, brush my teeth, do my hair and get ready to play. Four reasons I do what I do, clean and cook, even when I'm feeling like poo. Nobody told me being a Mother is so tough, your job never ends, sometimes I feel like I'm not quite enough. Sometimes I yell at the top of my lungs "There is only one of me, it just can not be done"! But then there's another side to this tale, the Rewards side, even when you feel like you fail. I haven't received a medal for what I do but am showered with love, hugs and sticky kisses too!

So here is a glimpse of what makes my heart swell, four reasons why I try to do my job so well:)

Happy Saturday!!!!!

Smothered Steak with Peppers Please.

I love a good steak every once in awhile, my husband and I aren't huge steak eaters but every now and then we get a hankering for a good ole steak. That's exactly what happened while I was at the store.....I thought hmmm steak sounds good and then I let my imagination run wild. In return I came up with this.

Yumm....steak smothered with peppers and onions with a nice layer of provolone cheese!!!!! Now I am sure I am not the first person to discover this but if you haven't tried must!!!!! Plus if you have a lover that loves steak, this may be an option for a lovely Valentines Dinner:)

So here we are...pretty simple but I promise you this steak will be out of this World!!!!!

Here's what I used to season my steaks.....this and only this, makes it real easy:)

Take your steak out and let it sit and reach room temp. this will work in your favor and in flavor!!!!

Then season one side of the steak and pat the seasoning in, so it stays and then flip and season the other side.

Don't be shy......shower that steak with seasoning LOVE.....

Now on to our toppings....take and wash your three little will need one red bell pepper, one green bell pepper and one red onion to cover four steaks.

Slice these babies up nice and thin.....

In a skillet over medium heat melt 3 tbs of butter.......

By the way I LOVE this man.....

Then add in your peppers and onion, saute until tender.

While your peppers and onions are cooking in a pool of butter...go ahead and grill those steaks. I am very lucky that I have a indoor grill at our house, but if you don't want to brave the elements outside and you don't own a George Foreman to get that grilled effect....then go ahead and cook them in the oven.

Here's my father-in-law showing you how it's done:)

Back to our peppers and onions......once tender go ahead and add a 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce and let simmer until it thickens up a bit. John was suppose to be taking a picture of the Worcestershire sauce, but he was being sneaky and go me in it too.

My husband making sure the onions and peppers are getting the attention they deserve.....I usually stir it once and walk away because I am busy getting other things together (let's just say this behavior has resulted in a lot of overly done finished products).

Oh my the smell is sooooooo wonderful, it's hard to resist the urge to grab a fork and eat these before they even reach the steaks.

Once your steaks are cooked to your liking, top with the onions and peppers.

Again my very excited father-in-law.....for some reason grilling has this effect on men.

Top with Provolone cheese and place in the oven until cheese is melted.

Then savor......I served mine with roasted red potatoes.
